When little Pouilles come to spread love around us.

We have been invaded by little Pouilles!

A mystical wooden puppet, looking at little creatures, turned on a lathe, with a heart painted on them.
Boule-de-Poil, spotting some little Pouilles outside!

Boule-de-Poil was the first one to spot them outside. Pouilles are little creatures from the different Lands of the Fellows, with only one purpose: spreading LOVE.  Maurice was a little timid initially, but a Pouille from the Land of Seven Colors warmed his heart quickly. And so did Petite Clothilde with a Pouille from the Land of Smooths and Mellows.

Hence, the Fellows and I, surrounded by those loving creatures, spent some time thinking about a more lovable world for young children. Elevating the uniqueness of young children, encouraging adults to listen to them thoroughly, sharing engaging activities and moving stories have become part of our weekly work here with the wooden Fellows. But echoing the work of others, whose mission focuses on the well-being of young children, also aligns beautifully with our purpose of creating a caring, young children-focused community. And the Pouilles’ mission of spreading love.

So let’s spread some love, shall we?

First, as you know, our Etsy shop will open later this week. We will elevate the work of others by giving back a percent of our profit to charities supporting young children. We will start with 1) Save the Children, 2) UNICEF, and 3) St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, but we welcome any suggestions you may have.

In addition, we thought we should elevate Giving Tuesday, which is coming up on December 3rd. Let’s all be little Pouilles and spread extra kindness and love around us! It is also a great day to support organizations. If you are unsure of charities to support, online resources, such as CharityWatch or CharityNavigator, can help you decide. You may also want to keep in mind the three following questions. 1. Do their mission align with what I want to support? 2. How efficient are they? In other words, how much of what I am donating directly supports the cause? 3. How transparent are they? Do they publish a report with the results of their fundraising campaign? How detailed is it?

There are a plethora of outstanding organizations focusing on young children. Let’s support their work. What early childhood-oriented charities would you like to elevate? What acts of love, care, and kindness towards young children would you like to raise? Feel free to add your thoughts in the comment section, or share them through the Contact form.

You still have time to participate to our drawing and win a picturebook! See our post from last week! We will draw three winners of a picturebook on November 30th! Good luck, and thanks for joining us in elevating the uniqueness of young children!
