When the Wooden Fellows are ready for a change of pace
- Frédérique and the Wooden Fellows
Each week, for over a year, the wooden Fellows and I have enjoyed sitting down to write about our imaginary world, as a way to both raise awareness of the uniqueness of young children and (re)connect with our own inner child. These posts have brought joy and healing. They have also allowed us to share a great deal of content around early childhood, including early mathematics, child development, and picturebooks.
We are ready to share a small change, one that will help us extend our horizons beyond the blog.

What does this mean for you?
- Starting this month, we will shift to one blog post each month. This change gives us more space to explore ideas deeply here, while also making room to connect with you in new ways elsewhere.
- Each week, we will revisit past posts. The wooden Fellows have grown and learned so much over the past several months that returning to earlier ideas — with fresh eyes — feels just right. Follow us on social media or sign up for our newsletter to stay connected with those updates.
- We will also begin sharing monthly videos on YouTube, reaching those who prefer listening and watching. These videos will offer stories from the wooden Fellows, and content on early childhood.
- We also want to be able to offer more in-person events, where adults and children can slow down and wonder together. Reaching out to our local community matters to us deeply.
- In the spirit of reaching out through various modes, we have been working on a picturebook introducing the wooden Fellows. Stay tuned, it will be available in our store in the fall!
- Finally, we also try to become more present on social media, with daily pictures on Instagram, tips on Facebook, and playful ideas on Pinterest, as additional ways to keep the conversation going.
Want to stay connected on a weekly basis?
Our newsletter is the best way. The wooden Fellows have a lot of fun sharing their own insights. You will also receive a brief update on our work, and reflective invitations to stay grounded in early years.
In other words…
… we are not stepping away, we are simply adjusting the pace to bring more magic to more people : )
See you next month, for a post on empathy!
